The Horse has been unveiled in Milan and the intial goals of this project have been met. Donations in excess of the needs of the original project will be carried forward into the LDVHI Educational Endowment to provide educational opportunities for young people. LDVHI donors often ask "how much should I give, what do others contribute?" The interest in showing the range of support generated by The Horse has encouraged us to graph the giving patterns.

Donors have been recorded in the appropriate categories in the records maintained in Milan and at the Dome in Fogelsville. Many of our friends have made repeated contributions, year after year; the sum total of each contributor's generosity will determine placement in a category.

    The categories are as follows:
The Renaissance Society above $ 50,000
International Friendship Circle $ 25,000 to $ 49,999
Leonardo da Vinci Society $ 10,000 to $ 24,999
The Leonardo Horse Guild $ 5,000 to $ 9,999
The 500 Year Leonardo Circle $ 2,000 to $ 4,999
Keepers of the Leonardo Dream $ 500 to $ 1,999
Friends of the Leonardo Horse up to $ 500

The implicit message that accompanies every gift to the Horse is that Charles Dent's dream has an appeal that goes far beyond national boundaries, beyond the limits of time. The enthusiasm of those who provided the gift of The Horse to the people of Italy and those who received it established a common interest and respect for all that Leonardo accomplished; for the artistic sustenance we enjoy from the legacy of the Italian Renaissance - and for all the wonders of art and science that may be created in the future.
